ITANAGAR, 20 Jun: A comprehensive two-day state-level training of trainers (ToT) programme on the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) or VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 concluded at the SIRD&PR here on Saturday.
The training was organised by the State Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR), in collaboration with the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR), Hyderabad.
The programme was inaugurated by RD&PR Secretary Dr Sonal Swaroop, who emphasised that well-trained trainers play a crucial role in the delivery and implementation of the programme. She also emphasised on water security, financial inclusion, 16th FC grants, JJM (Grameen), Poshan, andcapacity building of RD functionaries to ensure successful implementation of the viksit gram panchayat plans at the gram panchayat level.
“Well-trained trainers are crucial for disseminating knowledge and building local capacities,” Swaroop stated. She advised the participants to actively utilise their newly acquired skills to strengthen integrated planning and drive sustainable rural development across the state.
The primary objective of the ToT programme was to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and overall expansion of the capacity of key field functionaries. The intensive training drew active participation of block development officers, assistant programme officers, technical assistants, and extension officers (RE), representing five districts – Namsai, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Kra Daadi and Lohit – in the first batch.
The technical and interactive sessions were facilitated by NIRDPR Assistant Professor Dr Sonal Mobar Roy, SIRD&PR Deputy Director Dr Narayan Sahoo, VB-G RAM G MIS nodal officer Pabom Doyom, SIRD&PR Assistant Director SW Bagang, and others.
Through a mix of presentations, group discussions, and practical exercises, the training provided deep insights into participatory governance and evidence-based planning; convergence strategies across line departments; and resource mobilisation and community involvement in local governance.
Throughout the two-day event, the participants exchanged field experiences, deliberated on localised challenges, and shared best practices from their respective districts to maximise the impact of the VB-G RAM G framework.
