MIAO, 3 Aug: In a display of dedication and emergency medical expertise, a 108 emergency ambulance service team safely delivered a healthy baby boy inside a moving ambulance after a pregnant woman went into advanced labour.

At around 3:56 am on 1 August, the 108 emergency control room received an emergency call from Sikao Bagan village. The ambulance team immediately reached the patient’s residence and began transporting her to the Miao CHC in Changlang district.

However, while en route, her labour progressed rapidly, and at approximately 4:48 am, delivery became unavoidable.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Amiet Hutto and pilot Kampa Taikam safely assisted the mother in delivering a healthy baby boy, weighing 2.8 kg,inside the ambulance. The EMT immediately provided essential newborn care, including an

Apgar score assessment, with the newborn scoring 9/10, while also ensuring appropriate post-delivery care for the mother.

Both the mother and newborn were then transported safely to the Miao CHC, where hospital authorities confirmed that they were stable and in good health.
