DAPORIJO, 20 Jun: A team of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Upper Subansiri, led by MLA Taniya Soki, inspected various developmental projects being implemented in Daporijo township for public welfare.
During the visit, the team reviewed the progress of several infrastructure projects, including improvement of town roads in different colonies and market areas, construction of a multi-level parking facility, establishment of the mini secretariat building, and other ongoing development works.
The MLA said that several cement concrete roads have been constructed during his tenure with the cooperation of the public from various colonies. He said the improved road connectivity has facilitated smooth movement of vehicles, particularly during emergencies such as fire incidents, enabling fire tenders to reach affected areas without difficulty.
The team also inspected the augmentation of water supply project for Daporijo township with a capacity of 4.2 million litres per day.
The project is expected to improve the drinking water supply for the residents of the township.
Soki expressed hope that upon completion, the project would address the longstanding drinking water requirements of the people of Daporijo.
PHE AE Lalum Dubi briefed the team on the technical aspects of the project.
The visit was conducted to mark the completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 12 years in office.
