YAZALI, 6 Jul: The Nyishi Baptist Church Council (NBCC), the Arunachal Baptist Church Council (ABCC), and the Galo Baptist Convention on Sunday carried out their second phase of relief distribution for families affected by the recent flash flood at Possa/NEEPCO in Keyi Panyor district.
With this, the direct relief assistance provided to affected families totalled Rs 21 lakh.
The relief fund was raised through contributions and support from Baptist churches and associations across Arunachal Pradesh and beyond.
ABCC general secretary Rev Tugaso Manyu said that, while no amount of assistance could compensate for the immense suffering endured by the victims, the relief represented the love, prayers, and unwavering solidarity of the Baptist community with the affected families during their time of hardship.
NBCC general secretary Rev Dr Tana Tagi Tara thanked all the contributors and said that the overwhelming response reflected the true spirit of Christian fellowship, compassion, and unity.
The Christian bodies reaffirmed their commitment to continue supporting the victims in rebuilding their homes and restoring their livelihoods.
Indus Towers supports flood-affected communities
Meanwhile, in response to the devastating flash floods and landslides that recently impacted several parts of Arunachal Pradesh, one of the world’s largest telecom infrastructure companies, Indus Towers, has extended emergency relief support to affected families in Yachuli, Keyi Panyor.
Under its flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative ‘Pragati’, the company is distributing 330 kits comprising hygiene supplies, clothing, sanitation essentials, medicines, and other critical necessities designed to address the immediate needs of affected families. Particular attention has been given to supporting women, children, the elderly, and those who have been displaced by the disaster.
Representatives from Indus Towers, along with Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung, Keyi Panyor DC Shweta Nagarkoti Mehta, SP Angad Mehta, and ZPC Nabam Piju were present during the distribution efforts, helping ensure that timely assistance reached those most impacted by the natural disaster.

MLA Tatung added, “The recent floods have placed considerable strain on many families across our region, making timely assistance essential. This relief intervention is part of Indus Towers’ broader commitment to strengthening community resilience through timely and meaningful action during emergencies. The company said it will continue to work closely with local authorities and stakeholders to support relief and recovery efforts in flood-affected regions.
The relief distribution was implemented on-ground through the North East Affected Area Development Society (NEAID), Indus Towers’ implementation partner for the initiative.
