YACHULI, 10 Jul: Members of the Arunachal Bullet Club (ABC) arrived in Keyi Panyor district on Thursday and distributed relief to the families struggling to recover from the recent flash floods and landslides.

Recognising that recovery requires both immediate resources and practical support, the club coordinated with the district administration to ensure that the aid reached the most vulnerable households directly.

The ABC distributed a total of Rs 1,50,000 in direct cash assistance to help families meet urgent needs, such as medical expenses, home repairs, and daily livelihood costs. Because power outages and heavy rains remain ongoing challenges, volunteers also provided practical relief kits, including solar lanterns to provide light during power disruptions, umbrellas for protection against the weather, and buckets and mugs to assist with water storage and sanitation.

The club emphasised that the drive was not just about providing supplies but about showing solidarity with their neighbours and ensuring they do not face the recovery process alone. Before the distribution, the club officially notified the Keyi Panyor deputy commissioner to ensure that their efforts aligned with and supported the welfare work already being conducted by the local administration.

The club expressed gratitude to the local authorities for their guidance, and to the volunteers who dedicated their time to the initiative.

As a community-driven organisation, the ABC unites motorcycling enthusiasts who share a passion for exploration, brotherhood, and social service. It maintains a strong commitment to giving back to the regions they travel through by organising regular community outreach programmes, relief drives, and awareness campaigns across the state.

Meanwhile, East Siang-based Recovering Warriors – a local support group of recovering addiction survivors from Oyan – wrapped up a three-day donation drive, raising Rs 89,100 to support families devastated by the recent flash floods in Keyi Panyor district.

Driven by grassroots leadership, the initiative was spearheaded by former Oyan ZPM Bimol Lego and Oyan GB Bobita Bori. Together, they brought residents, local traders, and everyday commuters together to stand in solidarity with those who have lost their homes.

Adding momentum to the district’s humanitarian response, the Adi Artists Association of East Siang district also voluntarily stepped forward, pooling together an additional contribution of Rs 50,000 as a gesture of solidarity.

The East Siang deputy commissioner confirmed that the amount has been officially deposited directly into the bank account of the Keyi Panyor deputy commissioner in Yachuli to ensure immediate deployment towards relief and rehabilitation.

According to the organisers, this combined surge of community support represents unity, resilience, and the profound power of collective action. The team said that, as individuals working hard every day to rebuild their own lives from the ground up, they felt a deep responsibility to help their neighbours rebuild theirs during this critical time.

Every rupee collected through such initiatives will go directly to providing essential, ground-level relief to the displaced families navigating the aftermath of the floods.

AAPPRP donates Rs 2.5 lakh to support flood-affected families

Our correspondent adds: A team of the All Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Parishad (AAPPRP), led by its president Tagru Kasha, visited the flood-ravaged areas of Possa in Keyi Panyor district on Friday and handed over a financial assistance of Rs 2,50,000 to ZPC Nabam Piju for the welfare of flood-affected families of Possa and other areas.

The amount was collectively contributed by GPMs, ZPMs, and ZPCs from across Arunachal Pradesh, reflecting the collective commitment of the state’s panchayati raj fraternity towards helping communities in times of crisis.

In a gesture of solidarity, the AAPPRP delegation, comprising its central executive members, interacted with flood-affected families and took stock of the damage caused by the recent floods. The parishad expressed commiserations to the families who have suffered losses due to the disaster, and assured them of its continued support.

Speaking to the affected families, Kasha said the contribution symbolised the unity and compassion of panchayati raj representatives across Arunachal. He reaffirmed the parishad’s commitment to standing with the affected people and urged all stakeholders to continue supporting the rehabilitation and recovery efforts.

The AAPPRP also reiterated its appeal to the government and the authorities concerned to ensure timely relief, adequate compensation, and long-term rehabilitation measures for all families affected by the floods, while strengthening disaster preparedness and mitigation mechanisms to reduce the impact of such calamities in the future.
