RUKSIN, 6 Jul: The Recovering Warriors Oyan – a group of youths of Oyan village in East Siang district who have given up narcotics and drugs consumption- has contributed monetary aid to the families affected by flash flood and landslides in Keyi Panyor district.

The volunteers, led by Mohan Tamut, conducted three donation camps at Oyan, Ruksin and Pasighat markets and collected Rs 89,000. They handed over the collected amount to Ruksin ADC Kiran Ningo on Monday for forwarding it to the Keyi Panyor District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) as flood relief.

The volunteers appealed to the elite section of the people in the state to contribute and offer relief to the affected families.

Oyan Gaon Buri Bobita Bori and public leader Bimol Lego supervised the volunteers during the collection of the flood relief donations and assisted them in the official process to transfer the collected amount.

ADC Ningo assured to credit the amount in the bank account of Keyi Panyor DC and DDMA chairman athis earliest convenience.

It may be recalled that flash floods caused by cloudburst and massive landslides badly ravaged NEEPCO Colony near Yazali in Keyi Panyor district,washed away many houses, office quarters, road and public infrastructures. The flash flood claimed the lives of many individuals and rendered several families homeless.
