ITANAGAR, 2 Jul: Seva Bharati Arunachal Pradesh (SBAP) has dispatched emergency relief materials to families affected by the recent floods in Possa village in Keyi Panyor district.

The relief consignment was sent to meet the immediate needs of the affected community. Local volunteers are coordinating the distribution to ensure timely and systematic delivery of relief materials to every affected household.

The relief consignment includes 20 bags of rice, five bags of masoor dal, three bags of salt, five tins of refined oil, one bag of sugar, 10 cartons of biscuits, 50 cartons of mineral water, 10 kg of tea leaves, 1,000 food plates, and 1,000 tea cups.

A spokesperson for SBAP said, “Serving people during natural calamities is our foremost responsibility. We remain committed to supporting the affected families and will continue to assess the situation for further assistance if required.”

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Arunachal Pradesh visited the severely flood-affected NEEPCO Colony in Keyi Panyor district to provide immediate relief and support to the affected families.

ABVP karyakartas conducted an on-ground assessment of the situation in coordination with the local administration. To assist in the recovery efforts, the organisation provided financial assistance of Rs 95,540, raised through statewide donation drives led by ABVP units across various districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

 The team distributed 20 cases of packaged drinking water to ensure that residents have access to clean and safe hydration.

Beyond logistical aid, the karyakartas engaged in physical relief efforts, working shoulder-to-shoulder with local volunteers to assist the residents.

“ABVP Arunachal Pradesh remains steadfast in our commitment to stand with the student community and society at large during every crisis,” stated the organisation.

Further, a team from Himalayan University (HU),including staff members, visited the flood relief camp in Possa on Thursday and handed over cash and relief materials for flood-affected people to camp in-charge and ZPM Nabam Pizu.

The relief materials included food packets, blankets, toiletries, and other essentials to supplement ongoing relief operations at the camp.

The relief camp was set up and is being managed by the local authorities.

Pizu thanked the university team for its timely assistance.
