ZIRO, 3 Jun: The Bamin Michi Tourism Promotion Committee (BMTPC) extended relief support to flood-affected families in Possa village in Keyi Panyor district, reaffirming the belief that hope is best delivered through meaningful action.

The relief distribution programme was carried out in collaboration with the South Diibo ZPM, Ziro, and with support from the NEEPCO. Essential household utensils, including large buckets, plates, and other kitchen items, were distributed to families affected by the recent floods. These items are intended to help the households rebuild their daily lives with dignity.

Speaking on the occasion, BMTPC general secretary Michi Byai said that disasters remind communities of the importance of standing together.

 “Relief is more than distribution of materials. It is a message that no family stands alone in difficult times. Hope is delivered through action, and when communities unite with compassion and purpose, recovery begins.”

The committee expressed gratitude to the South Diibo ZPM, the NEEPCO, the volunteers, and everyone who contributed their time and resources to make the programme possible. “Their collective effort reflected the spirit of service and community cooperation that is essential during times of crisis,” it said.

Although the BMTPC was established with the vision of promoting Bamin Michi as a clean, culturally vibrant, and sustainable tourist village, the committee said it believes that tourism is built upon strong and caring communities. “Serving people in times of need is an extension of that vision, demonstrating that development begins with humanity, resilience, and collective responsibility,” it said.

The BMTPC remains committed to working with government agencies, community leaders, and partner organisations on initiatives that strengthen the well-being of local communities while preserving the cultural and environmental heritage of the region, it added.
