ITANAGAR, 5 Aug: The Kerala Kala Samskarika Vedi (KKSV), Itanagar and the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP) on Wednesday provided financial assistance for families affected by the devastating recent flash floods that struck several districts.

The KKVS handed over a cheque of Rs. 2 lakh to Yachuli MLA Toko Tatung’s Relief Care Fund to support the welfare, rehabilitation, and resettlement of the people affected by the recent floods in Keyi Panyor district.

The amount was mobilized through voluntary contributions from the members of KKSV residing in the Itanagar Capital Region as well as various districts of Arunachal Pradesh.

While handing over the cheque, the representatives of KKSV conveyed their solidarity with the flood-affected families and appreciated the relief initiatives being undertaken under the leadership of the MLA.

They expressed hope that the contribution would help provide relief and support the rehabilitation of the affected people.

The representatives of KKSV reaffirmed the association’s commitment to serving society and extending support to the people of Arunachal Pradesh whenever the need arises. The association emphasized that standing together in times of adversity reflects the true spirit of humanity and communal harmony.

The IFCSAP handed over a cheque of Rs 2.05 lakh to Papum Pare deputy commissioner Hage Mamu for affected families of Papum Pare district, DIPRO reported.

The remaining relief contributions for other affected districts will be handed over by Friday, completing the first phase of the IFCSAP’s flood relief initiative.

While briefing the DC, IFCSAP president Dr. Emi Rumi said the society launched a statewide crowd-funding initiative to support families affected by the flash floods. He said the relief assistance for Papum Pare district was made possible through contributions from the IFCSAP’s district units, with Bichom unit donating Rs.18,500, Pakke Kessang Rs. 51,500, Papum Pare Rs. 85,732, and the IFCSAP Central Executive Committee Rs. 50,000.

Relief assistance for other affected districts will be handed over by Friday, completing the first phase of IFCSAP’s flood relief initiative.

The DC thanked IFCSAP for the humanitarian gesture and said such acts of compassion and solidarity would further strengthen the spirit of brotherhood and unity among the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

The IFCSAP delegation included its general secretary Maya Murtem, and the society’s Papum Pare district unit president C.K Yab.
