ZIRO, 7 Jul: To mark the conclusion of the Cooperative Week (29 June to 6 July), and to welcome the upcoming Sahakarita Utsav, the office of the deputy registrar of cooperative societies (DRCS) organised a community plantation drive here in Lower Subansiri district.

Organised under the theme ‘Roots of Cooperation: Green Action for a Sustainable Future’, the initiative brought together cooperative members, local residents, and volunteers to plant native trees. The drive was led by DRCS Hage Komo and ARCS Dani Yamang, who emphasised that the long-term ecological benefits of the trees mirror the steady, sustainable growth of the cooperative movement.

The event, coordinated by Dani Yamang, concluded with a ‘cooperative green pledge’, during which the participants committed to nurture the saplings long after the drive. (DIPRO)
