ZIRO, 7 Aug: To streamline traffic regulation and enhance road safety across Lower Subansiri district, key district officials and transport union representatives participated in a high-level coordination meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme here on Friday.

The meeting focused on resolving key traffic bottlenecks, with primary emphasis on designated parking facilities and preventing road hazards. Addressing concerns over major accidents caused by vehicles parked indiscriminately along highways, officials directed that commercial heavy vehicles, including dumpers and tractors, must utilise separate, designated parking areas.

Superintendent of Police Keni Bagra called for a solution-oriented approach to district traffic management. While appreciating the local Tempo stand personnel for "maintaining structured operations," the SP pointed out that traffic density in the valley is set to keep increasing. He urged traffic personnel and transport operators to maintain smooth flow while ensuring a tourist-friendly environment, strictly cautioning against any harassment of visiting tourists.

The session saw active participation of District Transport Officer Remar Gab and DIPRO Tenzing T, alongside executive members from various transport associations, including the All Lower Subansiri Dumper Tippers Truck Welfare Association, Tempo associations, and local civil society representatives.
