TAWANG, 29 Aug: The Department of Education, Tawang, conducted the district-level Governor's Quiz competition, science seminar, and science exhibition at Government Town Secondary School here on Saturday.

KGBV Lumla secured the first position in the Governor's Quiz competition, while GSS Zemithang and GSS Mukto secured the second and third position, respectively.

In the science seminar, the first position was won by VKV Kitpi, while GSS Bomba and Town Secondary School Tawang secured the second and third position, respectively.

GSS Kitpi won the first position in the science exhibition. The second and the third positions were won by GHSS Lumla and KGBV Lumla, respectively.

The winners of the district-level competitions will now represent Tawang district at the state-level competitions.

The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students demonstrating their academic knowledge, scientific temperament, creativity and problem-solving abilities.

The science seminar and the science exhibition were organised under the Rashtriya Avishkar Abhiyan.

Fifteen secondary and higher secondary schools from Tawang district participated in the programme.

Tawang DDSE Hridar Phuntsok lauded the enthusiasm and innovative spirit displayed by the students, particularly the impressive working models prepared by the young innovators on new and renewable sources of energy, highlighting their relevance in achieving India's vision of self-reliance in energy and the larger goal of Viksit Bharat @2047.

He encouraged students and teachers not to limit innovative ideas and working models to competitions alone, but to explore their practical implementation in schools. He further urged them to use such innovations as tools for creating awareness among villagers and the wider community about the importance and benefits of green and renewable energy. (DIPRO)
