ZIRO, 25 Jul: As part of the nationwide two-year-long commemoration (July 2025-July 2027) honouring the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the Department of Art and Culturehere in Lower Subansiri district organised a district-level inter-school essay writing competition at Dani Kunia Government Higher Secondary School here on Saturday.

The event drew participation of students representing various schools across the district, all coming together to demonstrate academic excellence, national consciousness, and a shared appreciation for Dr Mookerjee’s monumental contributions to nation-building, education reform, and industrial progress.

Highlighting the importance of the event, District Art & Culture Officer Tapi Rimu emphasised that Dr Mookerjee’s life served as an inspiring benchmark of integrity and intellectual leadership for today’s youths. She noted that by uniting students from different institutions, the department aimed to foster healthy academic rivalry and collective reflection on Dr Mookerjee’s enduring legacy of unity, service, and patriotic pride.

The excitement surrounding the competition will culminate during the upcoming district-level Independence Day celebration on 15 August, when the winners will be announced and felicitated with trophies and certificates. (DIPRO)
