Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Dairy Development Minister Gabriel D Wangsu stated that animal husbandry sector in Arunachal is poised for a major transformation. He further said that breed, seed and feed are the three essential pillars of a successful farming system. The neglect of any one of these components, he said, could affect the entire production chain and limit farmers' income.

The minister made these remarks during the inauguration of an animal feed plant in Doimukh. The minister described the plant as a historic milestone for Arunachal Pradesh and an important step towards strengthening the livestock and fisheries sectors in the state. The minister noted that access to quality animal feed remains a major challenge in the Northeast. He said that the newly inaugurated plant in Doimukh is important not only for Arunachal but also for the wider Northeast region.

The minister deserved appreciation for his initiatives for rapid development of the sectors under his domain of activities. He is constantly pondering upon ways and means to boost agri-horti and other sectors under his area of activities. In the modern era, where opportunities in government jobs are shrinking due to advent of modern technology, agri-horti and fisheries sectors may provide avenues for self-employment in the state.
