LIKABALI, 30 Jul: The Gems of India Challenge, an initiative of the Government of India, aimed at encouraging creative storytelling and showcasing India’s rich heritage through digital content, was launched here in Lower Siang district on Thursday by Deputy Commissioner Gobi Nyicyor.
The programme was organised by the District Information & Public Relations Department, in collaboration with the district administration.
The DC was accompanied by jury members Augusti Jamoh, Henge Riba, Buru Taki and Tage Kakki. A number of content creators, digital storytellers, and students also attended the programme.
As part of the launch, a video highlighting the creative potential, cultural heritage and distinctive identity of Lower Siang was screened before the gathering.
DIPRO Augusti Jamoh made a presentation on the Gems of India Challenge, and briefed the participants on the initiative.
He advised content creators and aspiring digital storytellers to participate actively and produce meaningful, creative and quality content that positively showcases the culture, traditions, heritage, people, landscapes and unique attractions of Lower Siang.
The DC encouraged content creators, students and young creative enthusiasts to actively participate in the Gems of India Challenge and utilise the initiative in a meaningful and responsible manner.
He particularly encouraged students above 16 years of age to take advantage of the platform to develop their creativity, tell compelling stories, and showcase the rich culture, traditions, heritage, landscapes and unique identity of Lower Siang to a wider audience.
The jury members interacted with the participants, and encouraged aspiring creators and students to actively engage in the challenge, explore innovative storytelling formats, and bring forward fresh ideas that can put Lower Siang on the wider national platform. (DIPRO)
