ZIRO, 3 Sep: The deadline for the prestigious 'Gems of India Challenge' has now been extended to 30 September.

The Lower Subansiri district administration has issued an appeal to all local content creators, students, youths, and digital storytellers to make the most of the newly extended deadline.

Organised by Prasar Bharati and the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, this pan-India initiative offers an exceptional financial reward structure designed to recognise and elevate grassroots talent.

The challenge features a multi-tiered reward system totalling substantial cash prizes across district, state, and national levels.

At the district level, up to 20 outstanding creators from Lower Subansiri can each win a cash prize of Rs 50,000. Moving forward, top creators selected at the state level will be awarded Rs 2 lakh, while final national-level honourees stand to win a grand prize of Rs 5 lakh.

In addition to these lucrative cash prizes, winning creators will receive massive nationwide visibility, with their original short videos, reels, documentaries, or podcasts to be featured across the WAVES OTT platform, Doordarshan, Akashvani, and partner media networks.

The district administration has encouraged all aspiring filmmakers, vloggers, and creative minds in Ziro to utilise this extended timeframe to polish their entries and submit them through the MyWAVES platform before the 30 September deadline to turn local storytelling into a rewarding national achievement.
