SAZO, 19 May: Altogether 380 villagers of Sazo, Poito, Dugumba, Kungba, and adjoining villages benefited from a Seva Aapke Dwar (SAD) 2.0 camp organised by the Tawang district administration at Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya (NSCBAV) here in Lungla on Tuesday.

A total of 20 government departments provided a wide range of essential public services, and conducted awareness programmes on various issues during a camp.

Key services included Aadhaar enrolment, jan sunvai, awareness on government welfare schemes, free health check-ups, veterinary services, registrations under AB-PMJAY, and e-shram, among others.

The Horticulture Department distributed budded orange saplings to villagers, while the Textile & Handicrafts Department showcased and facilitated the sale of local handicraft products, promoting indigenous skills and livelihoods.

In her inaugural address, Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo emphasised that SAD camps are specifically designed to bring government services directly to the doorsteps of rural citizens, ensuring greater accessibility and public convenience.

She urged the villagers to make maximum use of such initiatives, and encouraged them to freely approach the officers present at the camp regarding government schemes and developmental needs of their villages.

During the jan sunvai, the DC heard grievances and public concerns raised by villagers, and discussed possible solutions with the departmental officers concerned on the spot.

Prominent local leader and chairperson of the School Management Committee of NSCBAV, Sonam Topgyal, appealed to the administration for a dedicated playground for the school and separate hostel facilities for boys and girls.

NSCBAV Headmaster (i/c) Sang Dorjee highlighted the importance of education, and appealed to parents to cooperate with the school administration in ensuring quality education for children.

Lungla ADC Tashi Dhondup, Circle Officers Tsetan Droma and Phomai Wangshu, and heads of offices from Tawang and Lungla were present during the camp.

Later, the DC inspected the infrastructure and hostel facilities of NSCBAV, as well as the under-construction academic building of the Upper Primary School Hoongla, accompanied by Tashi Dhondup, DDSE Hridar Phuntsok, and SMC Chairperson Sonam Topgyal.

Thereafter, the DC proceeded to Jemeithang to inspect the AI and robotics laboratory and other ongoing school infrastructure projects at the Government Secondary School in Jemeithang. (DIPRO)
