YINGKIONG, 17 Aug: Local MLA Alo Libang emphasized the importance of creating durable public assets that address people's needs.

He was speaking after inaugurating three major development projects, including a Material Recovery Facility (MRF) here in Upper Siang district.

Developed under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the facility will strengthen solid waste management in the township through systematic segregation and recovery of recyclable materials, contributing towards improved cleanliness, environmental protection and scientific management of municipal waste.

This was followed by the inauguration of the Vendor Market at Simar Market. The facility has been developed to provide local vendors and small traders with an organised and suitable marketplace, while facilitating orderly commercial activities and better management of urban public spaces.

Later, Libang inaugurated the academic building of the GHSS Yingkiong.

Addressing the gathering at GHSS Yingkiong, Libang recalled his early days as a student of the school and highlighted its significant contribution to the educational journey of Upper Siang. He said that over the years, the institution has produced countless doctors, technocrats, educationists and prominent public leaders who are serving or have served the state in various important capacities.
