ITANAGAR, 2 Sep: Lipin Ete from Arunachal Pradesh has been selected to represent India at the 24th Asian Cadet, Junior & Under-21 Karate Championship 2026, scheduled to be held from 6 to 10 September in Jordan.
Lipin will compete in U-21 female individual kata, Arunachal Pradesh Amateur Karate-Do Association (APAKA) said.
She will join the Karate India Organization national team at New Delhi on 4 September before proceeding to Jordan.
Lipin has an impressive track record at international level.
Her latest achievements include a gold medal in team kata at the USA Open Karate Championship, 2026.
Earlier, she bagged a silver medal in U-21 kata at the 9th South Asian Karate Championship, 2025 held in Sri Lanka and a bronze in U-21 kata at the 11th Commonwealth Karate Championship, 2024 in South Africa.
Lipin also participated at the WKF Karate 1 Youth League, 2024, Fujairah, UAE.
In 2023, she won a gold medal in U-21 individual kata and silver in team kata at the 7th South Asian Karate Championship 2023 in Nepal.
In 2022, she won a bronze medal each at Thailand Open Karate Championship and 10th Commonwealth Karate Championship, Birmingham, England.
APAKA president Yarda Niki and its general secretary John Bagang wished Lipin all the best for her successful participation in the championship.
They expressed hope that she will win a medal for Arunachal Pradesh and India and bring laurels to the state and the country.
