NIGLOK, 6 Aug: An interactive mock parliament session and an awareness campaign on fundamental rights and duties were organised at the Sainik Schoolhere in East Siang district on Thursday, with the objective of nurturing civic responsibility, leadership, and democratic values among the cadets.
The programme was conducted by Let’s Speak Arunachal, an Itanagar-based NGO, under the leadership of its founder Porsum Ori, and secretary Tana Jiri.
The event featured an engaging mock parliament for students of Class 9 to 12, providing them with hands-on exposure to parliamentary procedures, policy discussions, public speaking, and constructive debate.
At the same time, an interactive awareness session on fundamental rights and duties was held for students of Class 6 to 8, encouraging them to understand their constitutional responsibilities and become responsible citizens from an early age.
The cadets participated with remarkable enthusiasm, confidence, and a keen understanding of democratic principles. Their active involvement reflected the importance of such experiential learning initiatives in shaping future leaders.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to the participants in recognition of their outstanding participation and leadership.
The programme reaffirmed the shared commitment of Let’s Speak Arunachal and the Sainik School towards empowering youths, promoting constitutional values, and strengthening democratic awareness, particularly among students in remote border regions.
