AALO, 25 Jul: Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Kento Jini inaugurated a multi-storey parking lot at the daily market here on Saturday, in the presence of West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mindo Loyi, SP Kardak Riba, and ZPC Nyali Bagra.

The parking lot, constructed by the Department of Urban Affairs, can accommodate 40 LMVs in each storey. “Presently, it is for 80 cars and the foundation structure is for G+5,” Executive Engineer Helli Welly informed.

The parking lot was constructed at a total cost of Rs 488.9 lakh.

The DC appealed to the public to keep the building clean, while the ZPC urged the public to use the asset purposefully.

Jini in his speech appreciated the Urban Development Department and the contractor for timely completion and quality work.

“Construction of numerous parking lots in the Aalo township is in the pipeline,” he informed.

The minister urged the DC and the SP to remove all the unused vehicles and building materials from the national highway within Aalo township and periphery areas, and asked the DC to “cancel all the proposed land allotment near the IB and the SBI along the national highway.”

HoDs, administrative officers, ZPMs, and members of the public were present at the inauguration. (DIPRO)
