Editor,

With many examinations recently conducted and many more approaching in Arunachal Pradesh, it is high time institutions paid proper attention to hygiene and sanitation at examination centres. Candidates already deal with enough stress and pressure, and the least they deserve is a clean and hygienic environment.

Many schools and colleges used as exam centres have filthy washrooms, unbearable smell, no water supply, and improper disposal of sanitary waste. I have personally experienced this, and it is extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic. No candidate appearing for an important examination should have to face such conditions or worry about infections.

Maintaining cleanliness is a basic responsibility, not a special facility. Regular cleaning, running water, dustbins, and proper sanitary waste disposal should be ensured at every examination centre across Arunachal.
