YOMCHA, 14 Jul: The All 27th Liromoba Youth Organisation (A27th LYO) has submitted a 30-day ultimatum to the West Siang deputy commissioner and the PWD secretary, demanding immediate operationalisation of the PWD Yomcha division office at its designated headquarters in Yomcha.

The organisation stated that the PWD Yomcha division has been functioning from a rented room in Aalo for the last 10 years, causing immense hardship to the people of Liromoba constituency who have to travel long distances for basic PWD-related works and grievances.

Its key demands include shifting of the entire division from Aalo to Yomcha within 30 days; ensuring 100% attendance of all officers and staff at the Yomcha HQ from the date of receipt of the letter; installation of biometric attendance system at the Yomcha office within 15 days; directing JE Damken Gamlin and all other staff to remain present at the Yomcha office during office hours; and submitting a compliance report to the A27th LYO within 30 days.

Speaking on the issue, A27th LYO president Banya Yomgam said: “For 10 years, the people of 27th Liromoba have been denied basic government services at their own HQ. An office that exists only on paper is not acceptable. The government must ensure that public offices function where they are meant to, for the people.”

A27th LYO general secretary Ganya Kayi added: “We have given 30 days for compliance. If the department fails to act, the organisation will be compelled to take democratic and peaceful steps. The responsibility will lie entirely with the department.”

The A27th LYO has appealed to all public leaders, CBOs, and citizens of Liromoba to support the movement for transparent and accountable governance. (DIPR)
