PASIGHAT, 1 Jul: The Pertin Bodum Ba:né Kébang (PBBK) felicitated 62 academic and professional achievers during its 6th Annual Academic Excellence & Meritorious Awards Ceremony-2026 held here in East Siang district on 27 June.
In Class 10, Aido Pertin won the PBBK Gora Pertin Excellence Award with 91.2%, and Mumlung Pertin won the PBBK Onyok Rome Excellence Award with 90.8%.
The PBBK Kirmang Pertin Excellence Award in Class 12 (humanities) went to Ani Mumni Pertin with 90.6%, while Binam Pertin received the PBBK Baya Pertin Excellence Award with 90.4%.
Nui Pertin received the PBBK Gold Medal Award for securing Gold Medal in MSc (Mathematics) from NERIST, Nirjuli.
Other awardees included Gorna Pertin, who won the PBBK Bakin Pertin Excellence Award for securing a BDS seat via NEET, and Mina Kenna Pertin, who received the PBBK Excellence Award for topping APJEE.
Speaking on the occasion, former Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission member Jalash Pertin commended the PBBK for institutionalising a culture of recognising merit and excellence within the community. He said that success in public service and professional life must always be anchored in honesty, integrity, discipline, and accountability.
Pertin strongly advocated for an honest approach throughout one’s service career and urged all aspiring and serving public servants to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and maintain spotless service records.
He reminded the gathering that reputation is built over a lifetime of sincere service and that integrity remains the greatest legacy one can leave behind.
Dr. Minggam Pertin, Pain Specialist at TRIHMS said that true success is built upon dedication, resilience, humility, and compassion. He urged students to pursue excellence with sincerity while upholding ethical values and maintaining a healthy balance between professional aspirations, family responsibilities, and service to humanity.
Dr. Asthomi Jamoh Pertin, assistant professor at TRIHMS, shared her professional experience as a medical practitioner and highlighted that a happy and resilient family is founded on mutual love, respect, effective communication, trust, and shared responsibility.
She said that in today’s fast-paced world, professional success should never come at the cost of family values. She encouraged couples and parents to invest quality time in their families, nurture emotional well-being, and raise children with strong moral values, discipline, empathy, and faith.
Former East Siang ZPC and the president of PBBK Olen Rome termed the award ceremony as one of the flagship initiatives of the PBBK, and urged the younger generation to uphold the values of discipline, humility, hard work, and service to society. Rome reminded them that true success carries the responsibility of giving back to the community.
PBBK general secretary Apak Pertin emphasised the importance of unity, harmony, and collective responsibility in ensuring the continued growth and progress of the Pertin family. He encouraged the younger generation to remain connected to their roots while pursuing academic and professional excellence.
Rajiv Gandhi University Joint Registrar Dr. David Pertin presented a comprehensive report on the academic and professional achievements of the community during the year under review.
Pertin said the annual award ceremony is not merely a felicitation programme but a celebration of excellence, perseverance, and aspiration. The event was conceived to honour outstanding achievements, recognise hard work and dedication, and inspire the younger generation to pursue excellence in every sphere of life, he said.
“We have gathered here to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of the family members who have distinguished themselves in academics, professional careers, competitive examinations, research, sports, and other fields of merit. Their success is a testament to their unwavering determination, the sacrifices of their parents, the guidance of their teachers, and the collective encouragement of the community,” he said.
Dr. Pertin said that the academic Award Committee remains committed to nurturing a culture of learning, merit, and lifelong excellence.
Another highlight of the programme was the formal release of the book Tribal Migration: Adi Tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, authored by Dr. Odol Pertin, Principal in-charge of Jomin Tayeng Govt Model Degree College, Roing.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pertin said that the book is the culmination of years of dedicated research into the migration history, oral traditions, and cultural heritage of the Adi tribe.
He noted that the work seeks to document and preserve indigenous knowledge while providing an academic perspective on the historical migration and settlement of the Adi people in Arunachal Pradesh.
