MEBO, 4 Jul: The meritorious students of the Ratan clan who excelled in the APSBE Classes 5 and 8, AISSE Class 10, and AISSCE Class 12 examinations-2026 were felicitated with certificates of appreciation, cash, mementoes, and traditional Adi shawls during the 4th felicitation programme of the Ratan Welfare Society (RWS), organised by the women’s wing of the RWS here in East Siang district on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Kabit Ratan stated that education is the strongest foundation for the progress of any society. Dr Ratan urged the students to remain disciplined, hardworking, and committed to their dreams.
He further advised the students to set clear goals and nurture meaningful dreams, as these serve as the driving force behind success and achievement.
Retired principal Kaling Ratan emphasised that academic success is achieved through perseverance, sincerity, and consistent effort.
He encouraged parents to continue supporting their children in every possible way, and advised students to uphold good character alongside academic excellence.
RWS president Amut Ratan in his presidential address congratulated all the meritorious students and appreciated the commendable efforts of the RWS women’s wing in organising the programme.
He reaffirmed that the RWS remains committed to promoting education, unity, and community development, and assured of continued support for similar initiatives in the years ahead.
RWS secretary-general Pradeep Ratan emphasised that community participation and collective responsibility are essential for nurturing talented students and building a brighter future for the Ratan clan.
Earlier, RWS women’s wing president Oken Tamuk Ratan expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors, well-wishers, and volunteers for their support in making the programme a grand success.
She stated that the women’s wing of the RWS initiated the felicitation programme with the vision of promoting academic excellence among Ratan students and inspiring the younger generation to pursue education with dedication, discipline, and determination.
A special career counselling session was also conducted by distinguished resource persons.
Geku Assistant Commissioner Aniyang Ratan enlightened the students about various academic streams, career opportunities, and the scope of different subjects during the counselling session. He encouraged the students to make informed career choices based on their interests, aptitude, and future aspirations.
Namsai PWD Assistant Engineer Happy Ratan motivated the students to embrace hard work, dedication, and self-discipline as the key ingredients for success. He urged them to remain focused on their goals and never lose confidence in their abilities.
BPGH junior specialist (oral & maxillofacial surgery) Dr Kayon Ratan emphasised the importance of consistency, patience, and determination in achieving one’s goals. He encouraged the students to prepare themselves for an increasingly competitive world by remaining committed to their studies, developing resilience, and maintaining a positive attitude towards challenges.
RWS secretary (academic) Ojing Ratan also acknowledged the generous financial and material contributions made by the sponsors, stating that such support reflects the community’s commitment to educational advancement. He further expressed gratitude to the RWS women’s wing, the central executive body, volunteers, and all stakeholders whose tireless efforts ensured the grand success of the programme.
