PASIGHAT, 25 Aug: A District Task Force for Immunisation (DTFI)-cum-District Health Society (DHS) meeting was held at the DC's conference hall here in East Siang district on Tuesday.
During the meeting, epidemiologist-cum-MO (RI) Dr Kentaii Pangkam delivered a presentation on the performance of the Health Department during FY 2025-26 and the first quarter of financial year 2026-27. Pangkam also highlighted the status of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination in East Siang district.
Various key health services and programmes, including antenatal care (ANC), routine immunisation (RI), Dulari Kanya Scheme, CMAAY/PMJAY and National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) activities, were reviewed and analysed during the meeting.
Representatives of the WHO, VHAI and JSI, along with the district tuberculosis officer (DTO) also presented details of the performance and activities under their respective programmes.
Presiding over the meeting, East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani, commending the performance of Health Department in the district, encouraged the health staff led by the DMO to sustain and further improve the achievements. She also assured the department of all possible support from the district administration.
The DC also stressed the need to strengthen information, education and communication (IEC) activities on HPV vaccination, and called for concerted efforts to improve HPV vaccine coverage across the district.
Health officials, including medical officers of various health facilities, health & wellness officers (HWOs) and the deputy director of school education attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
