YINGKIONG, 7 Oct: Upper Siang deputy commissioner Ashok Tajo reviewed the overall performance of routine immunization (RI), the status of zero-dose children and preparedness for the Measles-Rubella Mop-Up vaccination campaign in the district during a District Task Force on Immunization (DFTI) meeting here on Wednesday.
The DC, who chaired the meeting, urged all health facilities and health officials to make concerted efforts to achieve the targets set under the respective micro-plans.
Emphasizing the importance of effective immunization coverage, the DC called upon the health functionaries to ensure that no eligible child is left behind. He directed them to strengthen coordination, field-level monitoring and timely reporting.
Earlier, DRCHO Dr. Andeng Sitek briefed the participants on the objectives of the meeting. She also reviewed the performance of various health facilities and highlighted key areas requiring focused attention.
During the technical session, WHO-RRT consultant Dr. Arindam Sarbadhikari made a detailed presentation on RI performance up to the second quarter of 2026-27 and the preparedness for the Measles-Rubella Mop-Up Vaccination Campaign in Upper Siang district.
Subsequently, medical officers-in-charge of Tuting, Mariyang, Jengging, Jeying and Katan blocks, including district hospital, Yingkiong, presented routine immunization performance of their respective health facilities, including coverage, achievements, gaps and areas requiring further improvement.
District coordinator Maniram Limbu made a presentation on Data Quality Assessment, highlighting the importance of accurate, timely and reliable reporting for effective planning, monitoring and implementation of health programmes.
In the first session, Manas Mohan, state consultant, RMNCHA, delivers a presentation on the U-Mentor Workshop, while Dr. Manas Kalita, SMO (DANO), Namsai, briefed the participants on the National Quality Assurance Standards.
