BOMDILA, 24 Jun: Timely vaccination of children in the 0-5 years age group remains crucial for safeguarding child health and reducing preventable diseases, said West Kameng deputy commissioner Dilip Kumar during a meeting of the District Task Force on Routine Immunization (RI) held at the DC’s conference hall here on Wednesday.
Chairing the meeting, the DC urged all concerned departments and members of the District Health Society, entrusted with responsibilities under the National Health Mission (NHM), to remain committed to their assigned roles and ensure the timely implementation of Routine Immunization activities for improved health outcomes.
Highlighting the importance of immunization, Dr. Kumar also stressed the need for the timely submission of accurate and authentic data to facilitate effective monitoring and planning.
District medical officer (DMO) Dr. R.D. Thongchi, speaking on the occasion, advised frontline workers to intensify vaccination outreach efforts and maintain family-wise registers to ensure error-free record keeping and better tracking of beneficiaries.
During the meeting, monthly progress reports and achievements under the Routine Immunization programme were reviewed through a detailed PowerPoint presentation.
The meeting also highlighted the forthcoming polio vaccination campaign scheduled for 26 June. All stakeholders were urged to ensure maximum community mobilisation and participation to achieve complete coverage of eligible children.
The DC emphasized coordinated efforts among the Health, ICDS, Education, and field functionaries to strengthen awareness and ensure that no eligible child is left out of the immunization drive.
