KHUPA, 20 Jun: A total of 159 participants attended the PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas organised here by the Anjaw Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), in coordination with the District Agriculture Department, on Saturday.
Among the attendees were Women & Child Development Minister Dasanglu Pul, Deputy Commissioner Millo Konji, Hayuliang ADC Julity Mihu, and the ZPMs of Chaglagam, Hayuliang and Hawai, among others.
Addressing the participants, KVK Head Dr Debasis Sasmal highlighted the objectives of the PM-KISAN Utsav Diwas and emphasised the importance of government initiatives for the welfare and empowerment of farmers.
Pul spoke about the significance of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi Yojana in supporting farmers’ livelihoods. She also emphasised the importance of balanced fertiliser use, adoption of organic farming practices, and sustainable agricultural development for enhancing farmers’ income and ensuring environmental conservation.
The DC in his address highlighted the benefits of the PM-KISAN scheme, and spoke on the importance of the Khet Bachao Abhiyan for protection and sustainable management of agricultural land.
Hayuliang ZPM Mantaw Bellai encouraged farmers to adopt organic and natural farming practices for long-term agricultural sustainability and improved soil health.
The participants then watched the live telecast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address from Hooghly, West Bengal, where he released the 23rd installment of the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries across the country.
