DOIMUKH, 31 Oct: The Doimukh police on Tuesday arrested one Ananyamon Boruah alias Maan Boruah (29), from New Delhi, in connection with a case of fraud and criminal breach of trust.

The arrest was carried out by SI Nabam Tate, along with Constables Shera Mangham and Shubham Yadav.

Boruah has now been brought to the Doimukh police station. He was arrested under Sections 61(2), 316(2), 318(4), 351(2) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.

According to the FIR lodged, the accused, Boruah, introduced himself as an established director, photographer and creative professional with experience working with reputed artists in the industry and in international creative projects, thereby gaining trust.

Based on these claims, Boruah was engaged under a professional retainer to work on a documentary project and other creative projects for a renowned artist, music composer and songwriter from Arunachal Pradesh.

Boruah, a resident of Duliajan in Assam's Dibrugarh district, and his alleged accomplice, one Debadutta Bhattacharjee alias Zia, have been accused of cheating, criminal breach of trust, criminal intimidation and criminal conspiracy.

Bhattacharjee is yet to be arrested. Further investigation is underway.
