LIKABALI, 19 Jun: Strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy, strict adherence to the academic calendar, and setting school-wise board examination targets were among key resolutions adopted to improve academic performance of the schools in Lower Siang district during a district-level coordination meeting held here on Friday.

Other resolutions adopted were ensuring 100 per cent Aadhaar enrolment and student bank accounts, timely submission of infrastructure proposals, and improved academic monitoring and data management, DDSE Tage Kakki said in a release.

During the meeting, it was disclosed that government schools in the district have shown better performance in this year’s CBSE Class 10 and 12 examinations, as compared to last year, with Govt Secondary SchoolKangku, and KGBV Seren achieving 100 per cent pass rates.

In the Class 10 examination, the district’s pass percentage rose from 41.44 in 2024-25 to 66.89 in 2025-26, while in Class 12, it maintained a pass percentage of 71.81.

Schools with outstanding performance in Class 10 included GSS Lipu (87.50%), GSS Dipa (82.35%) and GHSS Koyu (75%).

For Class 12, schools that recorded notable results were GHSS Gensi (93.75%), GHSS Likabali (76.85%), and GHSS Telam (75.86%).

Headquarters ADC Mokar Riba congratulated all heads of schools, teachers, and education functionaries for the significant improvement in Class 10 results, and urged them to sustain the momentum. He assured of full support from the district administration for improving the quality of education in the district.

DDSE Tage Kakki urged principals, headmasters, and block functionaries to make every possible effort to further improve the educational standard of Lower Siang district and bring improvement in their respective schools “under any circumstances.”

Earlier, BEO Dajo Ngomle presented the district’s academic performance, and highlighted the need for collective efforts to further improve learning outcomes.
