PASIGHAT, 25 Jul: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS), East Siang zilla organised a ‘Prabuddha nagarik sanghoshti (intellectuals’ meet)’at the auditorium of the College of Agriculture here on Saturday.
The programme witnessed the participation of more than 50 eminent intellectuals from across East Siang district, including professors, doctors, engineers, teachers, government officers, and young entrepreneurs.
The meet served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas on issues of social and national importance. The distinguished speakers of the event were prant pracharak Kamlesh Kumarand prant sampark pramukh Dr Kaling Jerang.
Addressing the gathering, they elaborated the history, philosophy, and organisational journey of the RSS, highlighting the various contributions made by the RSS in the fields of nation-building, social service, character development, disaster relief, education, and cultural preservation.
The speakers also explained ‘panch parivartan’ – the five-point social transformation roadmap introduced by the RSS for its centenary. They elaborated its vision of fostering social harmony, strengthening family values, promoting environmental consciousness, encouraging civic responsibility, and nurturing a sense of national pride and cultural rootedness.
They urged the participants to contribute actively towards these ideals through individual and collective efforts.
The interactive session that followed witnessed active participation of intellectuals representing diverse professions and backgrounds. Thought-provoking discussions were held on a wide range of contemporary and social issues, including the opportunities and challenges posed by artificial intelligence, sustainable farming practices, preservation of indigenous languages and customs, promotion of indigenous faith, education, youth development, and the role of intellectuals in shaping a strong and self-reliant nation.
The participants appreciated the open and constructive exchange of ideas, emphasising the need for continued dialogue on issues concerning society and national development.
