SEPPA, 1 Jul: The East Kameng district administration has appealed to the residents, civil society organisations, community leaders, and PRI representatives to cooperate with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) during the house-to-house verification and encourage eligible voters to provide accurate and complete information in enumeration forms.
“Let us ensure a clean, accurate, inclusive, and transparent Electoral Roll to strengthen our democratic process,” the district administration said, stating that the success of SIR 2026 depends on the active participation from every citizen.
The SIR aims to keep the electoral roll accurate, inclusive, transparent, and free from errors.
The BLOs have been conducting door-to-door visits despite heavy rainfall and difficult terrain, distributing enumeration forms, verifying electoral details, collecting completed forms, updating voter information wherever required, and creating awareness about the revision process.
At Tawang, deputy commissioner Namgyal Angmo reviewed the progress of the ongoing SIR drive during a meeting with representatives of all recognised political parties in the district.
The DC underscored the importance of collective participation in ensuring a free, fair, and inclusive electoral process.
She appealed to all political parties to actively engage their BLAs and assist during the house-to-house verification and Enumeration Form collection to ensure accurate, transparent, and error-free electoral roll.
Additional deputy commissioner Tashi Dhondup and Tawang assistant commissioner Tsering Choden briefed the representatives on the progress of the SIR and sought continued cooperation from all stakeholders for the timely and successful completion of the exercise.
Representatives of the political parties shared suggestions and expressed their commitment to work together, rising above political differences, to support the preparation of a robust, transparent, and error-free electoral roll for the district. (DIPROs)
