The entire Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process remains under scrutiny and as protests continue, the Election Commission has announced a special voter enrolment drive in Arunachal Pradesh for those who have been left out of the electoral roll.

Arunachal Pradesh's final electoral roll was published with 6.96 lakh voters, representing a reduction of 1.91 lakh from the pre-SIR count. This drop makes it one of the highest reduction ratios in the country. However, those who have been left out of the roll still have time to get registered.

The drive will prioritise young citizens who have attained 18 years of age and are eligible to register as voters for the first time. Eligible citizens whose names were omitted from the electoral roll-including those left out during the SIR-can apply for enrolment.

Booth Level Officers are organising special enrolment camps at their respective polling stations across the state. The primary aim is to identify missing eligible voters and simplify the registration process through these special camps and field-level assistance. Citizens who have been left out should get themselves enrolled.
