ITANAGAR, 8 Oct: In pursuance of the instructions of the Election Commission of India, a special drive for the enrolment of left-out electors and young newly eligible electors is being undertaken in Arunachal Pradesh, following the publication of the final electoral roll on 22 September.

The special drive will be conducted at the level of the electoral registration officer, under the direct supervision of the district election officers. Special camps will be organised by the booth level officers at their respective polling stations, along with other field-level functionaries, throughout the state to facilitate the enrolment of eligible citizens who have not yet been included in the electoral roll, including those who may have been left out during the special intensive revision process, the state's chief electoral officer informed in a release.

The release stated that voter enrolment is a continuous process and any person not yet enrolled in the electoral roll or whose name has got deleted can apply for enrolment at any point of time.

"The objective of the special drive is to identify and facilitate such electors," it said.

The drive will focus on facilitating the enrolment of left-out eligible electors, as well as young and first-time eligible electors who have attained the age of 18 years and are eligible for enrolment but have not yet been included in the electoral roll. Such eligible electors will be assisted in submitting Form 6 for inclusion of their names in the electoral roll.

All eligible electors have been requested to take advantage of this special camp and come forward to ensure that their names are included in the electoral roll, thereby strengthening their participation in the democratic process.
