TAWANG, 11 Jul: A comprehensive roadmap for the conduct of the 14th edition of the International Tourism Mart (ITM) 2026 here in Tawang district was chalked during a preliminary coordination meeting held at the circuit house here on Saturday.
The prestigious tourism event will be jointly organised by the Union Tourism Ministry and the state’s Tourism Department during the last week of October this year.
The meeting focused on key logistical and operational aspects, including accommodation arrangements, transportation, venue preparedness, security, hospitality, event management, and the proposed programme schedule.
The participants deliberated on strategies to ensure seamless coordination among all stakeholders, and to deliver a memorable experience to delegates and visitors.
As part of the preparatory exercise, officials of the Union Tourism Ministry and the state’s Tourism Department undertook a detailed reconnaissance of the Guwahati-Tawang route to assess logistical requirements and enhance the overall visitor experience.
The official team inspected major venues and facilities, including Vivanta Tawang, the Kalawangpo Convention Hall, PTSO, and other important locations to evaluate infrastructure and preparedness firsthand.
The meeting was attended by, among others, Tawang ADC Rinchin Leta, Tourism Ministry Deputy Director General RK Suman, the state’s Tourism Deputy Director Bengia Manna Sonam, District Tourism Officer Tsering Deki, and Tourism Information Officer Tenzin Tsamche.
The return of the International Tourism Mart to Tawang – after the successful hosting of its previous edition in 2013 – marks a significant milestone for the district and the state.
The event will provide an unparalleled platform to showcase Tawang’s breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, vibrant Monpa traditions, ancient Buddhist monasteries, unique cultural heritage, warm hospitality, and immense potential for adventure, eco, and spiritual tourism before national and international tourism stakeholders.
The International Tourism Mart is expected to bring together senior government officials, tourism professionals, travel trade representatives, investors, media personnel, and delegates from across the country and abroad, creating new opportunities for tourism promotion, business networking, and sustainable economic growth.
