JULLANG, 23 Jun: The National Commission for Women (NCW) and the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW), in collaboration with Itanagar-based Mezang Academy of Pastry Arts and Baking Science, organised a five-day training programme on ‘baking and patisserie’ for the female inmates of the district jail here in Papum Pare district.

The participants learned practical techniques, such as cookie-making, pastry preparation, cake making and cake decoration, while also gaining knowledge about food hygiene and entrepreneurship.

APSCW Chairperson Yalem Taga Burang and DSP (Jail) CT Lombi encouraged the participants and said that by learning to bake, the inmates could envision a brighter future and contribute positively to their communities upon release from the jail.
