The leaders in the INDIA bloc's rally at Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday came down heavily on the central government with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's repeated assertion that CEC Gyanesh Kumar will be removed and sent to jail for treason in the future and that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah will not be allowed to escape the law. The chief election commissioner (CEC) had colluded with the BJP to steal the votes of citizens, the opposition leaders alleged, and vowed to fight to "protect the Constitution and democracy."
Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that Modi and Shah have attempted to snatch the votes of Dalits, youths and women. Gandhi even went a step further, alleging that "vote chori has been taking place in the country for several years." He described the 2024 Lok Sabha election as illegal.
On the other hand, the BJP slammed Gandhi for his remarks about the central government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said: "Prime Minister Modi will not go anywhere so long as Gandhi is there manufacturing non-issues in his bid to create anarchy." According to Patra, the Congress' vote chori allegation is nothing but a bundle of lies.
Not doubt the rally will compel citizens to ponder upon the functioning of top government institutions and the election system. But the question is whether the common voters of the country actually care about this burning issue or not. Ultimately, the development of the country solely depends on vote bank politics.
