Editor,
I wish to draw the attention of the authorities concerned and the general public to the persistent hardships faced by the residents of Bosing Banggo, Upper Legong Banggo, and Ramle Banggo due to the deplorable condition of the road connecting these areas to Pasighat.
For decades, a small stream known as Poklek, locally called Pakla, has remained a major impediment to smooth vehicular movement. Despite repeated assurances by successive leaders and authorities, no lasting solution has been implemented to address this chronic issue. During the monsoon season, the situation becomes even more alarming, as muddy water, loose pebbles, and overflowing currents render the road virtually impassable.
As a result, students, daily wage earners, government employees, patients, and ordinary commuters are compelled to endure immense inconvenience and risk while travelling. This neglected stretch has become the Achilles’ heel of the region, severely affecting the daily lives and economic activities of countless people.
Although funds have reportedly been sanctioned and an RCC bridge has been constructed, the problem unfortunately persists, raising serious questions regarding the quality, planning, and effectiveness of the work executed. It is deeply disheartening that such a vital lifeline continues to remain in a dysfunctional state.
Therefore, I earnestly appeal to all stakeholders — including public representatives, PRI members, government officials, contractors, social activists, student unions, RTI activists, and the media fraternity — to intervene sincerely and ensure immediate and sustainable improvement of this crucial road infrastructure.
I hope the authorities concerned will treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves for the welfare and safety of the people of the region.
