ZIRO, 9 Jun: Celebrating the World Bicycle Day, the breathtaking landscape of Ziro valley in Lower Subansiri district came alive on Tuesday during the ‘Apatani heritage village ride’ cycling event organised by the Lower Subansiri Cycling Association (LSCA), under the Arunachal Cycling Association (ACA).

Pedalling under the theme ‘Pedal towards a Healthier and Greener Future’, over 50 cyclists united to champion health, environmental sustainability, and community spirit.

The event was infused with youthful energy, thanks to 16 students from the Hill Queen Education Institute, who rode alongside their Principal Rubu Lailyang, and a supportive cohort of local leaders, including ZPM Leegang Tatang.

Concluding the inspiring journey, LSCA president Tage Opo and secretary Narang Pullo expressed heartfelt gratitude to the participants, emphasising that cycling is quickly evolving from a recreational pastime into a celebrated competitive sport and a daily commitment to the planet – marking a powerful step forward in building a lasting eco-conscious culture in the region.
