DIRANG, 14 Jul: The Sela Brigade of the Indian Army on Tuesday flagged off 25 students from the border villages of Jung and Dirang who have secured admission to Woods Park Sainik School, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh, after clearing the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE)-2026.

The ceremony was attended by West Kameng Deputy Commissioner Dr Dilip Kumar, 46 Infantry Brigade Commander Brigadier Rahul Mishra, Dirang ADC Choiki Dondup, panchayat leaders, GBs and the parents of the selected students.

The students’ achievement followed sustained coaching, mentoring, and guidance provided by the Indian Army under its outreach initiatives.

Addressing the gathering, the DC congratulated the selected students and their parents and extended his best wishes for their future. He expressed appreciation for the 46 Infantry Brigade for its commendable efforts in identifying, mentoring, and preparing the students for the entrance examination, as well as for making comprehensive arrangements to facilitate their admission to the Sainik School.

He observed that such initiatives not only create meaningful educational opportunities for youths from remote border areas but also contribute significantly to their overall development and future prospects. (DIPRO)
