ITANAGAR, 4 Aug: ICC Rising Stars beat Arunachal Institute of Cricket Junior (AIOC Junior) by seven wickets to become champions of the inaugural Arunachal Little Master Championship 2026 at Jollang near here on Monday.

Batting first, AIOC Junior posted 75 runs, with Tarh Yain top-scoring with 20 runs in 36 balls. Captain Kokam Tachi Tayam contributed 11 runs in 41 balls.

Aryan Parbat and Gede Boje claimed five wickets each, dismantling the AIOC Junior batting line-up.

In reply, ICC Rising Stars chased down the target in 21.5 overs, losing three wickets.

Aryan Parbat played a patient knock of 13 runs off 37 balls, while Ansh Raj made 10 runs from 56 deliveries.

Wicketkeeper Rounak remained unbeaten on 12 runs from 22 balls, and Gede Boje finished the chase with an unbeaten 10 runs from 13 balls, guiding his team to a seven-wicket victory.

Aryan was declared player of the tournament.

AIOC Junior’s captain Kokam Tachi Tayam was named best batter of the tournament, while Sushant Ray emerged as the highest wicket-taker. Ansh Raj received the award for best fielder.

Addressing the gathering, Leparada District Cricket Association president Marto Nyodu applauded the efforts of the Itanagar Cricket Club (ICC) in creating a meaningful platform for young boys and girls to showcase their talent. He highly appreciated the vision and dedication of ICC president Suraj Tayam and AIOC coach-cum-organising secretary Lalit Deva in strengthening grassroots cricket across the state.

Tawang District Cricket Association president Tsering Thapkey praised the organisers for their relentless commitment to nurturing young cricketers.

Jollang-based Delhi Public School’s Principal Dr PK Suthradar encouraged the players to dream big, remain disciplined, and pursue excellence both in sports and academics.

Tayam, also the tournament director, reminded the players that “trophies may define a season, but character, discipline, and continuous learning define a lifetime.”

Deva advised the budding cricketers to take up the sport with sincerity.
