DOIMUKH, 4 Jun: Sixty-nine students participated in a career counselling programme for students of Classes 9, 10, 11 and 12, organised by the All Arunachal Pradesh Psychological Association (AAPPA) at MBD coaching centre here on Friday.
The programme was aimed at promoting informed career decision-making and self-awareness among the young learners.
The session was led by AAPPA chairperson Dr Tadar Amar, who spoke on “career confusion” and the need to make thoughtful, informed choices about thestudents’ education and future careers, stated a release.
During the session, Dr Amar dwelt on the concept of Ikigai in career planning, emphasising the importance of aligning one’s interests, abilities, values, opportunities and future scope while choosing a career path. He also highlighted the differences between conventional and non-conventional career options, and encouraged students to explore diverse opportunities based on their strengths and aspirations.
As part of the programme, the students participated in the RIASEC interest test assessment, which helped them gain insights into their interests and potential career preferences.
AAPPA general secretary Rozi Taba highlighted the association’s continued commitment to strengthening mental health and psychological wellbeing across Arunachal Pradesh. She also encouraged individuals seeking psychological support to avail themselves of the AAPPA’s tele-counselling service, ‘Calm Space’.
