Editor,

I would like to draw the attention of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) and the authorities concerned to several issues being faced by candidates while submitting the detailed application form (DAF) through the commission’s online application portal.

Firstly, the APPSC helpdesk has been extremely difficult to reach. Despite making repeated attempts – often more than 10 calls during official working hours – the calls remain unanswered. The helpdesk staffers do not respond to candidates’ calls, leaving applicants without any means of obtaining assistance regarding technical issues or application-related queries. This lack of responsiveness has caused unnecessary anxiety, frustration, and uncertainty among candidates during the application process.

Secondly, after the submission of the DAF, the portal does not display any confirmation message indicating that the form has been successfully submitted. Neither is there any acknowledgement nor a reference number generated for future record and verification. Such a confirmation is a basic feature expected in any online application system and reassures applicants that their application has been successfully received by the commission.

Another issue observed is that the section relating to ‘Other educational qualifications’ or similar qualification fields continue to appear blank even after the application has been submitted. This creates confusion among candidates regarding whether their information has been saved correctly or not.

Further, in the final stage of document upload, there is no provision to verify or preview the uploaded documents. Once a document is uploaded, only an icon appears, without any option to open, preview, or confirm that the correct document has been uploaded. This lack of verification may result in inadvertent errors that candidates cannot detect before the final submission of their application.

In view of these concerns, I earnestly request the chairman and the secretary of the APPSC to kindly direct the technical team managing the online application portal and the helpdesk to resolve these issues at the earliest. Ensuring a responsive helpdesk and a transparent, user-friendly online application system is essential for maintaining the confidence of candidates and ensuring a fair and hassle-free recruitment process.

I hope the commission will take prompt corrective measures in the interest of thousands of aspiring candidates across the state.
