NAHARLAGUN, 17 Jun: CSIR-North East Institute of Science & Technology (CSIR-NEIST) branch laboratory here organized a one-day Science Motivational-cum-Demonstration Programme at the institute premises on Wednesday.
Around 30 students, along with their teacher, Dinesh Kumar of Bunny’s Fantasy World School, Itanagar, attended the programme.
Resource person and Scientist-E of the CSIR-NEIST branch, Dr. Ravindra Rawal, delivered a lecture on “Career Opportunities and Future Perspectives – A Roadmap for Students.” He highlighted diverse career opportunities and future prospects in engineering, medicine, pharmaceutical sciences, legal services, civil services, management, and scientific research.
CSIR-NEIST branch Scientist-in-Charge Dr. Chandan Tamuly briefly introduced the institute and the objective of the programme. He also motivated the students to study basic sciences and gave them an idea about the different opportunities available in the field.
During the event, students were introduced to emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and renewable energy, along with higher education opportunities through the INSPIRE Fellowship, PMRF, CSIR-UGC NET and ICMR fellowships.
The students also visited different laboratories for demonstrations of practical experiments and sophisticated laboratory equipment, and received hands-on training in mushroom cultivation.
