Editor,
I would like to draw the attention of the authorities concerned towards the undue delay in conducting induction training for the newly appointed assistant engineers under the Arunachal Engineering Services (AES) in the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
It has already been more than two-and-a-half months since our appointment on 7 April, yet no induction training has been conducted so far.
Induction training is a crucial component for newly recruited engineers, especially at the assistant engineer level, as it equips them with essential technical knowledge, administrative procedures, and field responsibilities required to efficiently handle departmental duties.
It is also noteworthy that the recently appointed junior engineers of the same department, who were appointed on 26 May, have already been scheduled to undergo their induction training starting from 8 June. While this step is appreciated, it raises serious concerns when compared to the delay faced by assistant engineers, whose roles demand greater technical expertise and responsibility.
Furthermore, it is observed that assistant engineers in other departments such as PWD, RWD, WRD, HPD, and the Power Department have already successfully completed their induction training. This disparity clearly reflects an administrative lapse and lack of concern within the PHED department regarding the professional preparedness of its officers.
Such delays not only hamper the efficiency and confidence of newly appointed engineers but also affect the overall functioning and service delivery of the department. Timely training is essential to ensure that officers are well-equipped to meet the technical and administrative challenges of their roles.
Therefore, I sincerely request the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to organise the induction training for PHED assistant engineers without any further delay.
I hope this issue will receive the necessary attention through your reputed newspaper.
A concerned AE,
AES 2025, PHED
