The Election Commission published the draft electoral rolls for Arunachal Pradesh after completing the special intensive revision (SIR).

Out of 8,87,505 registered voters, 7,18,046 (80.91%) submitted their enumeration forms during the exercise. A total of 1,69,459 names (19.09%) were removed from the draft electoral rolls.

Officials say that the deleted names include 25,573 deceased voters, 54,678 untraceable or absent voters, 78,980 permanently shifted voters, 4,947 duplicate or already enrolled voters, and 5,281 under other categories. However, 19 percent is a large number, and many people, even if they have all the required documents but not in the correct form, may have been deleted. Therefore, it is necessary that citizens check the electoral rolls and get themselves registered again, as eligible voters who were missed during the enumeration can still apply to be included in the electoral rolls.

The claims and objections period will remain open from 21 July to 20 August, 2026. The final electoral roll will be published on 22 September, after the verification process is completed. Therefore, political parties and election officials must once again come together to ensure that all eligible voters are enrolled.
