YACHULI, 19 Aug: A Kisan Credit Card (KCC)-cum-financial literacy workshop was organised here on Wednesday in the presence of NABARD DDM Dr. Lalit Kumar Maurya, Keyi Panyor DFDO C.Yadi, LDM Durga Boro, Yachuli BBM Tar Tarin, DDU-GKY district coordinator Techi Totu, and representatives of Infoway IT Solutions. The workshop aimed to create awareness among farmers, particularly fish farmers, about institutional credit, financial inclusion, and various government support schemes.

Addressing the participants, Dr. Maurya highlighted the importance of KCCs in meeting the credit requirements of farmers. He briefed them on the latest KCC guidelines and informed them about the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) and the Jan Samarth Portal. He also encouraged fish farmers to avail themselves of the KCC Fisheries Scheme to expand their aquaculture activities.

Yadi elaborated on various central and state government schemes available for the fisheries sector. She informed the participants about the Fish Farmer Producer Organisations (FFPOs) operating in the district and encouraged farmers to leverage these organisations for marketing and collective business activities. She also shared insights into fish production and management practices.

Durga Boro demonstrated the use of the Krishika mobile application for accessing KCC-related services and digital banking facilities. He also spoke about financial inclusion, social security schemes, insurance, pension programmes, and education loans.

Tar Tarin emphasised the importance of credit linkage for business expansion and sustainable livelihoods, while Techi Totu spoke on financial planning and the Panchsutras.

Around 60 farmers and stakeholders participated in the programme, which was organised by Infoway IT Solutions.
