LIKABALI, 27 May: A coordination meeting on Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 was held with representatives of various political parties here in Lower Siang district to brief them on the ongoing exercise.
Addressing the gathering, Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Kardo Nyigyor appealed to citizens to take the exercise seriously and follow the revision process strictly.
“All outsider applicants seeking enrollment should be properly verified before inclusion in the electoral rolls,” Nyigyor, who also is local MLA, said.
He appealed to all political parties to remain precise and accurate while facilitating the enrollment of intending voters and actively participate in the important exercise undertaken by the Election Commission of India.
During the meeting, EROs Ainstein Koyu and Janes Mary Tayeng explained various aspects of SIR-2026, including revision procedures, claims and objections, verification mechanisms, and the role of political parties and booth level agents in ensuring accurate and error-free electoral rolls.
The meeting also witnessed interactive discussions, suggestions, and clarifications among the delegates and election officials regarding the ongoing revision exercise. (DIPRO)
