RAGA, 7 Sep: Panchayat leaders of the Pate zilla parishad constituency in Kamle district sought timely intervention of higher authorities for an independent inquiry and fresh reassessment of beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) in Pate block during a press briefing held at the Raga Press Club on Monday.
The leaders raised concerns over the assessment and verification process under Puchigeko CD block, and sought an inquiry into the functioning of Puchigeko CD Block EO (RE) B Lomdak in connection with the implementation of PMAY-G.
According to the panchayat leaders, 472 households were assessed across the five GPC segmentsconcerned, but only 22 households have been added to the beneficiary list. They said the nil beneficiary status of Pate-VIII GPC segment was particularly puzzling and requires clarification.
The leaders also claimed that beneficiaries had been added mostly from three segments, while no beneficiary was reflected from Pate-VIII. They said the disparity between the ground-level assessment and the figures reflected in the PMAY-G records raise serious questions among the panchayat representatives.
They have demanded verification of household assessment records, physical verification reports, beneficiary and priority lists, AwaasSoft data, and other records related to the selection and exclusion of eligible households.
The panchayat leaders have further sought fresh physical verification and reassessment of eligible households in Pate-III, Pate-V, Pate-VI, Pate-VII and Pate-VIII GPC segments, preferably by officials not involved in the earlier assessment.
They clarified that the complaint is aimed at establishing the facts and ensuring transparency, rather than making unverified personal allegations against any individual.
The leaders have urged higher authorities to intervene at the earliest and order a fresh, impartial reassessment of PMAY-G in Pate block, so that genuinely eligible and deserving households are not deprived of housing assistance. They have also sought appropriate action if any negligence or procedural irregularity is established.
